What does the ‘kg’ of a washing machine mean?

The label kg of a washing machine indicates the maximum weight of dry clothes that the washing machine can clean, optimally.

Do note that a washing machine can wash clothes heavier than the weight indicated but that the job would not be as neat as it should be and typically the machine will consume way more water, time and energy (electricity units) than it is meant to spend.

How do you know the weight of your clothes?
