Philips Appliances Company Renamed Versuni

After the 2021 acquisition by Hillhouse Capital, Dutch domestic appliances powerhouse Philips has been renamed Versuni.

“The new name is the next step after the Domestic Appliances business became independent in September 2021. Although the company’s visual identity is changing, its mission to turn houses into homes remains constant,” an official statement read.

Having signed a 15-year brand license with Royal Philips for $700m a year, the new owners will continue to make products under the Philips brand until the year 2036. Additionally, Versuni will make and sell products and services under 6 other brand names including Saeco, Gaggia, Philips Walita, Preethi, L’OR Barista and Senseo.

Versuni which is headquartered in the Netherlands is active in more than 100 countries and has a global innovation, manufacturing, and commercial footprint. With more than 900 patents on its name, the company’s portfolio spans kitchen appliances, coffee, climate care, garment and floor care.
